Sportsday 2016
Together with the German Grundschulzweig, the SISS Primary children participated in the Bundesjugendspiele 2016 with great enthusiasm. Despite the typically “British” weather, the children achieved amazing results including many personal bests.
24 children received the “Ehrenurkunde”, a special award for outstanding achievement, signed by the German Bundespresident.
The morning was rounded off with a refreshing treat after the fun relay – ice-creams for all children, student helpers from the Y9 sportsclass of the German Gymnasialzweig, parent helpers and staff.
Our thanks go to all parents and student helpers who supported us before, during and after the event!

We would like to thank all parents and participants for your support of this year's walkathon, it was another tremendous success thanks to all of you! For German Cancer Aid, your efforts raised €10,050! We are so proud of all of you! This year, as you know, we were able to include a great group of 6 year 11 CAS students. They were a welcome addition and definitely breathed new life into the fun-filled event. CAS student involvement will continue in future walkathons.
Welcome from a rainy Erbach! Our first two days have been really good fun. On Monday, the children visited the castle and went for a trip around the town with the local washer woman. The teachers were put in the 'pranger' and the hand stocks, much to everyone's delight, and we washed some dirty underwear (not ours!) in the river!
On Wednesday, 23 of March 2016, the second SISS Primary Book Day took place. The range of workshops was incredible, a total of 18 workshops were offered: German fairytales read to the children, electronic reading at the computer, writing a story on the wings of a bird and writing a newspaper article, combined with pictures made out of Lego are only a few examples.
The German as Second Language (DaZ) and English as Additional Language (EAL) Departments want to say “Thank You“ to the parents from SISS Primary. From the money raised by the parents at the Open Day’s cake sale and a previous book sale the school was able to buy 2 sets of LEGO Education Story Starter and one set of LEGO Education Learn To Learn with a total value of EUR 400. The children have already had a chance to experience these new materials during Book Day.
